Initial registration is carried out exclusively online, in accordance with the established schedule, through the dedicated website.
Announcement to students who have passed the 2026 Baccalaureate Examination
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research informs all students who have passed the 2026 Baccalaureate Examination that the digital ministerial guide for the orientation and registration of 2026 Baccalaureate holders is now available through the digital platform, alongside the launch of the Artificial Intelligence Assistant for University Orientation.
This assistant enables candidates to obtain instant and accurate answers regarding the various stages of university orientation and registration.
Nine Algerian Universities Ranked in the US News Best Global Universities 2025–2026
Nine (09) Algerian universities have achieved a new milestone by being ranked among the world’s top 2,250 universities in the US News Best Global Universities 2025–2026 ranking. The universities included in the ranking are: Djillali Liabès University of Sidi Bel Abbès, Ferhat Abbas University Sétif 1, Abou Bekr Belkaïd University of Tlemcen, Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology, Badji Mokhtar University of Annaba, Abderrahmane Mira University of Béjaïa, M’Hamed Bougara University of Boumerdès, Mohamed Boudiaf University of Science and Technology of Oran, and Mohamed Khider University of Biskra. This achievement reflects the continuous improvement of Algerian universities’ standing on the international academic stage, driven by sustained efforts in scientific research, academic publishing, and international cooperation. It is worth noting that Djillali Liabès University of Sidi Bel Abbès ranked first nationally and 849th globally, securing a distinguished place among the world’s top 1,000 universities. This accomplishment further demonstrates the positive momentum and growing international visibility of Algeria’s higher education institutions.
A new executive decree paves the way for research professors and students to sell their patents
Publication of an executive decree published in issue no. 06 of the Official Gazette establishes the standard status of public scientific and technological institutions: For the first time, the law allows research professors of various categories and students to sell their patents and exploit them for financial gain, The law clarifies how financial returns are distributed in varying proportions among the parties involved in research activities conducted by research professors, students, assistants and interns, A share of sales revenue will be given to higher education and scientific research, as well as professional institutions that host and support research activities and have obtained patents.
Regarding the research conducted with private resources: A maximum of 80 % is allocated as compensation to those involved in completing the research; A minimum of 20 % is directed to the institution’s budget.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research holds a roundtable to strengthen the Algerian-Italian partnership in terms of innovation and university entrepreneurship
In the context of renewed dynamism in the innovation and university system, and in line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s commitment to international openness and to the development of quality partnerships, the high-level roundtable convened a select group of Algerian higher education officials alongside our partners from the friendly Italian Republic. From the Algerian side, the strategic meeting was attended by the presidents of the regional university conferences, the president of the National Coordination Committee for the Follow-up of Innovation and University Entrepreneurship, the Deputy Director of the Directorate of International Cooperation, the president of the National Coordination Committee for the Follow-up of International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programmes, the National Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Development Centres (CDE) and the National Coordinator of University Incubators. The rectors of Constantine 3 University, Oran 2 University, Setif 1 University, Ouargla University, Tlemcen University and Bab Ezzouar University were also present. Representatives from the University of Genoa and the Italian business incubator (FILSE) participated on the Italian side. The discussions at this roundtable focused on exploring cooperation opportunities between the University of Genoa, the FILSE business incubator on one side, and seven Algerian universities on the other. This collaboration mainly emphasised on the following areas: • Entrepreneurial education and pedagogical innovation; • Training in university entrepreneurship; • Development of incubator programmes and entrepreneurship development centres; • International experience exchange and the establishment of joint supervision and support programmes.
This qualitative initiative is a strategic step towards the internationalisation of Algerian universities. It demonstrates a firm dedication to foster an environment of innovation, connecting universities directly to the real economy, and equip students and researchers with global tools necessary for developing entrepreneurial projects with regional and international competitiveness.
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research oversees the appointment of the Director of Student Life
18 January 2026. Delegated by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, the Secretary General of the Ministry, Mr. Toufik Guendouzi, presided over the appointment ceremony for Mr. Fathi Yousfi as the Director of Student Life at the ministry’s headquarters. Present at the ceremony were the Chief of Cabinet, the Inspector General, the Director General of Education and Training, the Minister’s advisors, the Directors of the Central Administration, and the officials of the Directorate of Student Life.
In his welcoming speech for the occasion, the Secretary-General commended M. Fathi Yousfi’s remarkable efforts during his tenure as the head of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports at the University of Algiers 3. He wished him further success and achievement in his new career.
