Mr. Kamel Baddari receives a nanotechnology innovator and supports her project in therapeutic nutrition

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, received on the afternoon of May 6, 2026, at the ministry headquarters, student Nesrine Mersli, a graduate with a Master’s degree in applied biochemistry from M’Hamed Bougara University of Boumerdès, and the holder of an innovation in the field of nanotechnology.

This innovation aims to develop advanced therapeutic systems based on the use of nanoparticles to enhance the bioavailability of natural compounds by improving their absorption in the body and precisely targeting them to therapeutic sites in order to increase their absorption.

The minister praised the student’s outstanding path, particularly after her project in therapeutic nutrition obtained the “innovative project” label, which seeks to provide scientifically grounded nutritional solutions to support health and prevent diseases.

It is worth noting that the student benefited from funding under the “Protomarket” program and is currently incubating her economic project at the University of Boumerdès, a journey that was crowned with the granting of a patent in the name of the university.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, received today, April 21, 2026, at the ministry’s headquarters, his counterpart, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Vocational Training of the Republic of Chad, Mr. Sitack Yombatina Beni.
The meeting focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of higher education and scientific research.
The Chadian minister also expressed his desire to benefit from the ministry’s leading experience in digitalization, as well as in the valorization of scientific research results.
At the end of the meeting, the two ministers exchanged their latest publications entitled: “Exploring Certain Contemporary Issues” and “Environmental Law and African Cultural Representations.”

On the afternoon of 8 January 2026, Mr. Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific research, welcomed Professor Adda Bounedjar, the President of the National Commission for Cancer Prevention and Control to the ministry’s headquarters.

The minister and the president of the national commission discussed the prospects of precision medicine how to achieve them. They agreed to set up a joint committee to meet the objectives outlined in the cooperation plan.

The Professor Elias Zerhouni introduced the minister to an ambitious project proposal focused on imparting modern scientific technology to students, particularly regarding artificial intelligence in the medical sector.

On the afternoon of 8 December 2025, Mr. Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received Mr. Tom Erdimi, the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Vocational Training, along with his accompanying delegation, at the ministry’s headquarters.

The two ministers reviewed the status of the bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of higher education and scientific research. In this context, the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Vocational Training of the Republic of Chad assessed the high level of cooperation provided by Algeria, particularly regarding student scholarships in Algeria, and the promotion of Chadian national competencies

During the meeting, both parties discussed perspectives to enhance exchanges in the field of higher education and scientific research, as well as expanding areas of partnership to serve the interests of both countries.

On 25 September 2025, Mr. Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received students Aymen Hamidi and Abderraouf Aroua to the ministry’s headquarters. They are the founders of the “KABAS” start-up, which is based at the National Polytechnic School in El Harrach. This company specialises in integrating artificial intelligence to transform and improve industrial processes and offers smart solutions for efficiency and innovation.

The minister congratulated the students on being selected as one of the twenty-five start-ups worldwide specialising in deep tech field. They are heading to Moscow to participate in the international artificial intelligence start-up competition. Mr. Kamel Baddari wished them of success and prosperity in representing Algeria at the sixth edition of the Sber-500 Program, one of the world’s leading business acceleration programmes.

The 25 best start-ups will be presented at the Moscow Startup Summit, which attracts thousands of start-ups and investors from around the world.

On 18 September 2025, Mr. Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received this morning, at the Ministry’s headquarters, his friend, student Tedjari Noufel Ali Abdelhamid, enrolled in the first year of Computer Science at Ferhat Abbas University, Sétif 1.

Noufel obtained his Baccalaureate in 2025, specialising in experimental sciences. He overcame educational challenges and waged battles in hospitals without giving up. He studied, educated himself, and prevailed.

The minister encouraged Noufel to continue his striving for excellence and requested that the director of Setif 1 University to support him throughout his studies.
