The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the results of the 2025 baccalaureate orientation

On 5 August 2025, Mr. Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held a press conference at the ministry’s headquarters to announce the orientation results for the 2025 baccalaureate holders.
This year’s results saw a significant shift, with 65.30 % of students choosing science and technology majors. Furthermore, 70.38 % were able to secure one of their top three choices, reflecting a significant satisfaction with the digital orientation pathway adopted. 13% of these students will benefit from employment contracts in the national education and health sectors as soon as they complete their studies.
The courses of excellence at major schools, namely the Scientific and Technological Hub, Martyr Abdelhafid Ihaddadene in Sidi Abdellah, the Higher School of Computing and the University of Medical Sciences, attracted a notable interest from the students who achieved very good and excellent grades.

On 5 August 2025, Mr. Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, awarded, at the ministry’s headquarters, the Ministry’s Label of Merit to the students who had excelled in the International Mathematics Competition for University Students held in Bulgaria. This recognition was in honour of their achievement of two silver medals, two bronze medals, and a certificate of a certificate of recognition for his student friends: Meddah Ahmed Adlane, Merabet Yasser, Kinane Youssef, Ben Mallouka Mohamed Amir and Gherfi Chebila, from the National Higher School of Artificial Intelligence in Sidi Abdellah, and the Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology. They were accompanied by their supervising professors and the Director of the National Higher School of Mathematics.

He also took this opportunity to present the Ministry’s Label of Merit to the Director of the National Higher School of Computer Science of Oued Smar, in recognition of his and his exceptional team’s efforts in ensuring the success of the initial registration process at all stages.

Preparations for the new academic year

In anticipation of the upcoming academic year scheduled for 13 September 2025, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, held a meeting today, 3 August 2025, at the ministry’s headquarters with officials from the ministry’s and the National Office of University Services. The meeting was dedicated to establish the procedures relating to services at the university city of Algiers. Similar technical meetings will follow concerning the other university cities on a national scale.

Mr. Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific research, receives this afternoon at the ministry’s headquarters, Abdeljalil Chenafi and Lamine Khaled, two innovative students from the Higher School of Teachers of Laghouat.
The two students presented four marketable projects, including the educational oasis and a smart charger, etc.

On 31 July 2025, Mr. Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, met with officials, Director of the National Higher School of Computer Science of Oued Smar, and the presidents of the three University Regional Conferences. The purpose of this meeting was to closely monitor the orientation process for baccalaureate holders in the 2025 session and review satisfaction indicators, aiming to minimise automatic default orientation.
