The National Higher School for Teachers of Deaf-mutes’ inaugural class graduates

On Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Algiers, The first class of 292 teachers for the deaf-mutes graduated. These teachers will be oriented to the education of the said category of students with special needs in high schools starting the upcoming school year.
Under the supervision of the minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari ; the minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs, Mrs. Kaouter Krikou, the minister of National Education, Mr. Abdelhakim Belaabed, and the advisor of the president of the Republic in charge of Education, Higher Education, Professional Training and Culture, Mr. Mohamed Seghir Saâdaoui,the graduation ceremony of this class, named after the professor Tayeb Belarbi, was held at the National Higher School for Teachers of Deaf-mutes in Beni Messous.
In his speech on the occasion, the minister explained that this graduation “is one of the fruits of the new Algeria to strengthen equality in education and teaching between all,” pointing out that “these successive steps will allow Algeria to go forward on the path to become the locomotive of development in various fields.”

For her part, Mrs. Krikou asserted that this step “crowns the wise decision of the president of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to create this school in order to ensure a quality education for the deaf-mutes,” noting that “the training of qualified teachers is the means to this end and allows this category to complete its academic education with a qualified support.”
The first promotion of the National Higher School for Teachers of Deaf-mutes will be given to the sector, starting the next academic year, as Mr. Belaabed also pointed out. This is “a great contribution reflecting the will of the president of the Republic to provide the best means to educate all categories.”
In the same context, he added that these teachers “will work to ensure the education of hearing impaired students, and will contribute to the intersectional efforts.”
