Students of the National Higher School of Cybersecurity Win Five “Innovative Project” Awards in Technology and Cybersecurity

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, congratulated, on May 22, 2026, through his official Facebook account, second-year students of the National Higher School of Cybersecurity following the recognition of several of their innovative projects with five “Innovative Project” awards in the fields of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, legal technologies, and the digitalization of university services.
The awarded projects include:
• “RAKY” in the field of cybersecurity awareness and training.
• “LAWLY” in the field of legal technologies and artificial intelligence.
• “VIGIL” in the field of university network security analysis.
• “SMAI” in the field of internal threat detection using artificial intelligence.
• “Campus Security & Maintenance Hub (CSMH)” in the field of digitalization of university residence management, maintenance, and security.

On May 2, 2026, Mr. Kamel Baddari extended his congratulations, via his official Facebook account, to the women’s handball team of the sports association of the University of Biskra, following a historic and unprecedented achievement marked by their promotion to the national first division.
This accomplishment is the result of sustained efforts by the student athletes, along with the dedication of the technical and administrative staff, the university administration, with the support of the Algerian University Sports Federation and the Governor (Wali) of Biskra, who provided all the necessary conditions and resources to achieve this goal.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research congratulates the spin-off company CRAPC EXPERTISE SPA on its entry into the Algiers Stock Exchange

I am pleased to inform the academic and research community that the spin-off company CRAPC EXPERTISE SPA, originating from the Scientific and Technical Research Center in Physico-Chemical Analysis, has today obtained approval for listing on the Algiers Stock Exchange, granted by the Commission for the Organization and Supervision of Stock Exchange Operations (COSOB).

This achievement represents a concrete transformation of scientific research results into financial assets tradable on the national market, confirming that scientific research in Algeria has become a key player in wealth creation and in strengthening the link between knowledge and the economy.

On this occasion, we extend our warmest congratulations to the CRAPC team for this success and wish them continued progress and future achievements.

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, congratulated, through his official account, the higher education and scientific research sector on the inclusion of two Algerian universities in the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject.

These are the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene and Djillali Liabès University of Sidi Bel Abbès. This achievement represents a significant milestone for the sector, as Algerian universities appear for the first time in the QS World University Rankings by Subject, achieving the following results:

  • 1st place in the Maghreb for the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene in Petroleum Engineering, ranked among the top 101–150 universities worldwide.
  • 1st place in the Maghreb for the same university in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, ranked among the top 401–450 universities worldwide.
  • 1st place in the Maghreb for the same university in Computer Science and Information Systems, ranked among the top 651–700 universities worldwide.
  • 1st place in the Maghreb for Djillali Liabès University of Sidi Bel Abbès in Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering, ranked among the top 401–450 universities worldwide.

This ranking is a strong indicator of the progress in scientific research and the improvement in the quality of academic training, and reflects the efforts made to develop Algerian universities and enhance their position in international rankings in recent years.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research expresses its sincere gratitude and deep appreciation to all partners, including the ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, the ministry of Industry, Sonelgaz Company, local authorities of the Province of Biskra, following the successful production of a new sheep feed “Sheep Date”, an innovative product derived from the optimal use of date waste. This product is developed by the Scientific and Technical Research Centre for Arid Regions in Biskra.
This project is part of an initiative that aims to enhance the value of applied scientific research in the agricultural sector. The project’s goal is to fatten sheep and improve meat quality, thereby providing an effective alternative to imported feed corn.
