Tuesday, August 1, 2023- the minister of higher education and scientific research Mr. Kamel Baddari presented at the headquarters of his ministry, a press conference on the Orientation results of the new Baccalaureate holders- session 2023. Mr. Baddari affirmed that about 71 % of the new Baccalaureate holders, who completed their pre-registrations, have been oriented depending on their top three majors’ list wishes.
Minister Baddari revealed that the rate of registered students who were able to obtain their first wish on the college majors list, has reached 38.57%, while 18.20% of them were able to obtain the second wish on the majors list, whereas 13.93% were able to obtain the third wish on the list.
As for non-oriented students, they have numbered more than 5000 students, which is -according to what Mr. Baddari described- a very low number in comparison to the previous years. As he announced the launch of a platform for new wish -list cards set to be ready between August 6 and 8.
Mr. Baddari added that the registrations have known a high rate of students oriented to the majors of science and technology, recording the highest rate of 53.04%, whereas the majors of human and social sciences have recorded a percentage of 35.54%. A percentage of 11.87 has been also recorded in the majors of economic sciences, management and commercial sciences.
As for the distribution of Baccalaureate holders with regard to the major formation fields, the registrations in bachelor’s degrees have recorded a percentage of 70.1%, while the branches of medical sciences have recorded a percentage of 7.55% .As to the basic formation, ‘ in higher schools’, the percentage of registered students was 4.33%. The higher schools for teachers knew the registration percentage of 2.60%.
In addition to that, minister Baddari explained that the high averages obtained during the Baccalaureate session 2023, particularly the averages with the grade: ‘Excellent, very good, and good’ pushed his ministry to elevate the number of pedagogical seats, especially in medical branches, higher schools and national- registration majors.
As for national- registration majors, Mr. Baddari noted that some higher schools and medical sciences have marked an increase in the lower averages of registrations, thus, the lowest admission averages in medicine have reaches 16.52% regarding the stream of experimental sciences, 17% for mathematical stream, whilst the lowest average was in the stream mathematical techniques with a percentage of 17.34%.
However, with regard to the lowest average in pharmacy, it was 15.94% for experimental sciences, 16.41% for mathematical stream, and 16.75% for mathematical techniques. Whereas the admission average in the higher school of computer science was 18.11%, and 17.79% in the higher school of artificial intelligence of Sidi Abdellah.
From the other hand, the new formation points have witnessed students’ turnout, hence 14 formation points have been created across 14 university cities in the form of annexes for medical sciences. As for distance education, 1184 registered students have been enrolled across 12 model universities, and 246 students have been registered within the double university degree amidst six universities as a first stage.
With regard to the objective of forming 50 thousands architects in computer science majors during three years, Minister Baddari announced that 28.810 students have been registered for the upcoming university year, comparing to 22.106 students last year.
Mr. Baddari additionally, revealed that the final online registrations are scheduled on the period from August 5, to 6, 2023. The oral interviews at the higher schools of teachers are scheduled on the period from August 2, to 6, 2023. As for university services, the registrations are going to start online from August 19, to 28, 2023. The registration operations are going to be concluded with students’ transfers between August 29, and September 1, 2023.
