During a public session in the National Assembly, dedicated to answering oral questions of its members, chaired by Salah Goudjil, the minister explained that the sector has taken “a set of procedures to be able to employ as many magister and doctorate holders in 2023, also, 1725 budget headings, among those vacant since December 31, 2023, have been allocated.”
“The sector is working to enact a number of regulatory texts to deal with the issue of employment within the needs of university and recherché institutions,” the minister added.
In regard to the measures taken to renew the equipment of university residences, the minister recalled the “revival of the equipping process of 270 restaurants and 230 university residences at the national scale, it includes the acquisition and installation of accommodation furniture, mattresses, covers and accessories, robotic equipments, restaurants, and café’s furniture, kitchen’s equipment and ventilation,” noting that “these equipments will be distributed during the first semester of this year after the completion of the regulatory procedures.”
As for the creation of new university annexes, the minister highlighted that “the creation of these annexes in any region of the country is subject to purely scientific and educational considerations,” pointing that “it is not possible to create a new university institution unless it answers to terms and conditions, as well as the needs of the social and economic environment and the sectors that will benefit from graduate students.”
In another context, he stressed that “the ranks held by the Algerian universities lately are the best evidence that the Algerian university has a place in the world,” adding that “the organization of national or international scientific events inside or outside the country can only improve the visibility of these institutions and develop their research mobility.”
However, the minister recalled that these events “are submitted to the authorization of qualified bodies within the university or research institutions under tutelage, to avoid any untruths with no connection to the sector.”
