On 21 October 2025, Mr. Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, oversaw the launch of the Master’s programme in control and interference of drones at the Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology in Bab Ezzouar, in collaboration with the National Higher School of Autonomous Systems.

In this regard, the minister asserted that the objective is to train Algerian officials and engineers in drone technology. They should be able to design, develop and give technical solutions with intelligent systems that can monitor, analyse and control drones using artificial intelligence and defence electronics.

Additionally, Mr. Kamel Baddari stated that the students will begin their training today. They will sign an employment contract with the research centre upon their graduation, strengthening the connection between university education and the needs of national research and development institutions.
