Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Presides over the Graduation Ceremony of the First class of the National Higher Schools of Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, presided over the graduation ceremony of the first class of the National Higher School of Artificial Intelligence and the National Higher School of Mathematics on 29 June 2026 at the “Martyr Abdelhafid Ihaddaden” Scientific and Technological Pole in Sidi Abdellah. The ceremony was attended by Professor Elias Zerhouni, senior State officials, representatives of national public and private companies, international firms, as well as the graduates’ families.
The graduating cohorts comprised 105 students from the National Higher School of Artificial Intelligence and 50 students from the National Higher School of Mathematics.
In his address, Mr. Kamel Baddari stated that the graduation of these first class marks the culmination of five years of rigorous academic training and sustained commitment. He emphasized that the graduates’ outstanding academic achievements reflect both their dedication and the guidance provided by their professors. He further noted that the strong presence of representatives from national and international companies and economic stakeholders at the ceremony demonstrates the growing demand for graduates of the two schools, owing to the high-level skills and expertise they have acquired to meet the needs of various sectors.
The Minister added that the graduation of this first class embodies the forward-looking vision of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at developing highly qualified national talent capable of keeping pace with scientific and technological advances and contributing to the development of a knowledge-based economy. He recalled that the establishment of the two schools in 2021 was driven by a strategic vision anticipating Algeria’s future needs in the fields of artificial intelligence and mathematics.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to the top-performing students from both schools, as well as to winners of international scientific and sports competitions. Several start-ups were also honoured in recognition of their contributions to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
