Following his inspection of Mhamed Bougara University in Boumerdes, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, visited several university residences under the Boumerdes University Services Directorate on the afternoon of Saturday, September 5, 2026, to assess their readiness to welcome students and review the final preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The visit covered the following university residences:

• “Bouhari Boualam” University Residence (INH).
• “Ziani Lounas” University Residence (INIM).
• “Frères Gouikah” University Residence in Corso.
• “Frères Toubal” University Residence in Boudouaou El Bahri.

During the visit, the Minister reviewed the progress of rehabilitation works affecting residence buildings, dining facilities and other accommodation facilities. He also inspected the available infrastructure and equipment and assessed student reception arrangements and the quality of the services provided.

In this regard, the Minister stressed the need for close and regular on-site monitoring by the Rector and the Director of University Services, through a thorough inspection of the various residences residence by residence, building by building, room by room and dining facility by dining facility, in order to ensure their full readiness and identify and address any shortcomings before the start of the academic year.

The Minister further emphasized that the primary objective is to provide students with safe, decent accommodation conditions and improve the quality of university services, in line with the requirements of the modern Algerian university and with a view to enhancing the overall quality of student life.
