The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, conducted a field visit on the evening of Thursday, September 3, 2026, to university residences in Ben Aknoun and Hydra, to assess the progress of comprehensive renovation and rehabilitation works and review their level of readiness ahead of the upcoming academic year.
The visit covered various rehabilitation sites, including waterproofing works, the upgrading of electrical and plumbing systems, painting, as well as the installation of PVC windows and doors. The Minister also inspected the refurbishment of small kitchen facilities on each floor, along with the maintenance and rehabilitation of bathroom and shower facilities, university dining halls, heating systems, and landscaped areas.
During the visit, the Minister stressed the need to accelerate the pace of the works and ensure the highest quality standards, with a view to providing a suitable environment and comfortable, decent living conditions for students from the beginning of the 2026–2027 academic year.
