The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, chaired on April 9, 2026, at the “Martyr Abdelhafid Ihaddaden” Scientific and Technological Hub in Sidi Abdellah, the launch ceremony of a remote payment service for application and registration fees for international students, as part of the “Study in Algeria” program.
The launch ceremony was held in the presence of the delegated wali of the administrative district of Sidi Abdellah, a representative of the CEO of the Local Development Bank, as well as a group of international students enrolled in Algerian higher education institutions as part of the first year of implementation of the “Study in Algeria” program, representing 48 different nationalities.
On this occasion, the Minister stated that this initiative is the result of joint cooperation between the sector, the Ministry of Finance, and the Local Development Bank, all of whom contributed to the development of this service as part of the digitalization process. International students can now pay their tuition fees quickly, securely, and transparently, while avoiding complications related to international bank transfers.
The Minister also highlighted that the “Study in Algeria” program serves as a gateway for international students to pursue their studies in Algeria, reflecting the country’s openness to the world and diverse cultures.
This measure aims to strengthen Algeria’s position as an international academic destination, enabling international students holding international electronic payment cards to easily pay their tuition fees. On this occasion, international students expressed their appreciation for this initiative.
It is worth noting that the “Study in Algeria” program benefits students from various nationalities through contracts established between international students and higher education institutions, defining mutual obligations and ensuring high-quality education and scientific research.
