On 2 November 2025, Mr. Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, presented Dr. Laïd Derdabou with the Ministry’s Medal of Merit in recognition of his victory in the 17^th edition of the Stars of Science programme, with his remarkable innovation “VIDA”, which transforms a smartwatch into a needle-free early warning system for measuring and monitoring vitamin D levels.
